Three bespoke HiFi cabinets; three completely different approaches. From hidden turntables to integrated DJ decks and large-scale vinyl storage, this article explores how materials, listening habits, and interiors shape the design of custom record player cabinets.

After discovering the wreck of an old punt on the bottom of the River Cherwell, I decided to rescue it and rebuild it myself. What I thought might take a week turned into a two-month project involving fibreglass repairs, long lengths of sapele, fourteen coats of varnish, and an epic launch voyage with my heavily pregnant wife.

This is a case study of the commission and design of a bespoke walnut office desk. The top was crafted from a single solid slab designed for both beauty and function. It also features an organic leg structure, and textured drawer fronts. Built at the optimal ergonomic height for comfortable computer use, this walnut desk brings together natural character, modern design, and traditional craftsmanship.
